Crane Hire Insurance Our cranes range in value from £200,000 to over £3 million, so it’s important that appropriate insurance arrangements are in place in the event of accidental damage, theft or misuse. The British Safety Standard BS7121 on the safe use of cranes, notes the potential risks associated with working with cranes. And it highlights the need to protect against the potential consequences of these risks through appropriate and comprehensive insurance cover. This factor is now considered by many of our customers to be as important as the specification of equipment. Ainscough Crane Hire Ltd offers comprehensive insurance packages. This varies depending on whether you choose our CPA Crane Hire or CPA Contract Lift option.

With CPA Crane Hire, the customer is responsible for:

• Accidental damage to crane or other equipment including support vehicles on hire to the full replacement value
• Continuing hire charges or charges for loss of use as a result of the crane or other equipment being out of service whilst repairs are carried out
• Insurance cover for the goods being lifted
• Public liability insurance to cover injury to other parties including damage to third party property
• Cover against injury to our operators or our employees supplied in connection with the hire contract

We can waive these requirements relying on our own comprehensive insurance package subject to an increase in the hire rate but the customer retaining responsibility for their own acts of negligence.

With CPA Contract Lift the customer is responsible for:

• Any sum in excess of £25,000 in respect of goods lifted
• Any sum in excess of £5million in respect of loss or damage to other property or death or injury to other persons normally provided under public liability insurance
• Ground conditions
• Inability of the goods to withstand the lifting operation
