Training
All employees, including operators, are trained to industry standards and beyond. Operators receive specific training in each machine they use, and all are expected to gain an NVQ Level 2 qualification. We’re committed to ensuring all aspects of our operations meet and exceed the requirements of current legislation. All team members meet the regulatory requirements of a "competent person" and all hold relevant CPCS certification.

Target Zero
Ainscough launched its commitment to health and safety back in 2002 at our seminar called “Safety before Profit”. Ever since, we have set our standard above both the minimum legal requirements and those of the rest of the crane industry.
Our record has been good, but time moves on and many of our customers now have zero injury targets, so Ainscough must strive for the same. It is for this reason we are launching our renewed commitment to health & safety entitled “Target Zero”. The key elements of “Target Zero” will include:
Safety Culture – we always operate within the law, we always do things right, we never cut corners and we never do anything we are not fully trained to do.
Health & Safety handbook - for all operatives.
Road/classroom driving assessment - for all drivers of cranes, HGVs, commercial and saloon vehicles; including load security for HGVs.
Increased lift supervision and crane operator assessments – on a planned and random basis.
New induction procedure for newly qualified and trainee operatives.
Zero tolerance of failure to comply with company health and safety policy and procedures.
You will receive more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime it is always useful to remind ourselves that we are all legally obliged to act in accordance with the requirements of health and safety in our day to day work:
THE LAW STATES THAT ALL EMPLOYEES HAVE A DUTY OF CARE TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS IN THE COURSE OF ALL THEIR DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES IN THE WORKPLACE |
