Four Liebherr LTM1500s
performing two lifts in a single day |
When the construction team behind an extension to a London exhibition centre needed two massive lattice girders lifted into place, they turned to Ainscough Crane Hire.
We run a fleet of ten 500 tonne Liebherr LTM1500s which are perfect for this kind of heavy lift.
The four cranes arrived at the ExCel London centre at 7am one January morning. The 120 tonne girders were both 87m long and two quadruple lifts (four cranes working simultaneously) were needed to get them into place.
Within three hours the first lift had been completed. The cranes were then repositioned and the second lift was completed by 3pm the same day. All four were then de-rigged before being removed from site before 6pm. The lifts played a crucial part in the development which has seen ExCel increase its events space by 50 per cent and add a 5,000-seat convention centre.
Because Ainscough has a fleet of 10 sure that even if any of the four machines were held up on previous jobs we would still have the capacity to meet their needs. |
