Ainscough Crane Hire, proud sponsor of Wigan Warriors, donated a large number of tickets to the annual Heritage game v Castleford. Tickets were offered to team members and their families, customers and nominated charities for fundraising.
Wigan Warriors secured their fifth straight win with a victory over Castleford at the DW Stadium. Wigan beat Castleford 28-0 with an attendance of 15,022.
The Ainscough team embraced the event as a way of supporting causes that really matter to them. Charities helped this year included:- Battens Disease Family Association, Dean Puplett fund, Coventry U7 Football team, Cancer Research, Leigh Cadets and Kids RL team.
The Wigan Warriors annual heritage day took place at the home fixture with Castleford Tigers on Friday May 8th 2015 which is the same date that Wigan defeated Hunslet 50 years ago at Wembley in 1965. The kit worn that year is the inspiration for this seasons design and a number of ex-players were at the game along with players who played in the 1965 Challenge Cup parading the pitch beforehand.
Wigan Warriors fans were also asked to don their favourite Wigan shirt from bygone eras at the game against Castleford Tigers in support of the Heritage Day. Ainscough are happy to play our part in making this a successful occasion.
