AINSCOUGH HONOURED FOR STANDOUT SAFETY RECORD

award

The UK’s leading lifting solutions company, Ainscough Crane Hire, has been honoured by a major industry body for its outstanding approach to safety.

The Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) is the principal trade and employer association for the UK engineering construction industry. It boasts over 300 companies as members, including both global organisations and smaller contractors.

As part of their membership of the ECIA, members submit their annual injury and accident statistics each year. As a result of Ainscough’s impressive figures for 2018, it has been awarded the ECIA Safe Working Award.

The award recognises that throughout the twelve months in question Ainscough, achieved an Accident Frequency Rate below the industry average as defined by the Health and Safety Executive’s RIDDOR regulations.

Tony Morley, QHSE Manager, Ainscough Crane Hire, said: “The achievement of ECIA’S Safe Working Award is testament to Ainscough’s continued commitment to delivering outstanding standards of safety on our projects throughout the country. Safety sits at the heart of all the work we do, and I would like to thank all of our staff for showing their commitment to our Make the Safe Choice ethos on a day to day basis. At Ainscough, we share a collective responsibility for each other’s safety, and every member of the team knows they are empowered to speak up and stop work if they sense there is a risk of an accident

“A company of our size has a significant responsibility in guaranteeing the wellbeing of our staff, customers and the general public. That is why Make the Safe Choice is so important to us, and why we are always examining what can be done to further improve upon our already stringent safety practices in order to reduce risk on our projects as much as possible.”

Terry Woolmer, Safety Health & Environment Manager, ECIA, said: “There is no doubt that our members deliver a performance that is substantially better than that for construction as a whole.

“These positive outcomes would not have been possible if members were not consistently delivering high standards. Such performance does not come about by chance. Therefore, not only do we extend our congratulations but also our thanks for all your efforts.”
