AINSCOUGH LIFTS MODULAR HOMES INTO MERSEYSIDE

Ainscough Crane Hire has worked with its client ilke Homes to bring its innovative modular homes to the North West for South Liverpool Homes (SLH).

Ilke Homes’ state-of-the-art factory in Knaresborough, Yorkshire uses innovative, modern methods of construction to build modular homes for delivery to locations across the UK.

The high-quality, energy efficient homes are transported to developments and once on site, can be installed at a rate of six homes a day – cutting the time a traditional build programme takes in half in order to deliver housing to those who need it most.

Four three-bedroom homes were built off-site in ilke Homes’ factory before being transported to the 119-home development on Greenway Road in Speke, Liverpool, which is being built for SLH by Keepmoat Homes.

They were then lifted into place by staff from Ainscough’s Preston depot over three days, utilising a 100t crane.

Paul Haigh, Ainscough’s operations manager for the North West: “It’s always a real pleasure for our team when we work with ilke. The company is at the forefront of the modular building revolution that will change the way houses are built. Installation of these homes took place over a sunny few days in Merseyside, and the expert way the different components are constructed means it is a relatively simple process for our team to complete. We look forward to working with ilke again soon as they continue their march to bring their innovative offsite built homes to other parts of the country.”

ilke homes is a delivery partner of Keepmoat Homes which is building the 119 two, three and four-bedroom homes on a former school site on Greenway Road, transforming the area into a thriving community. The sustainable homes will offer low running costs for tenants and will enable SLH to meet the increased demands for homes in the area at a quicker pace of delivery.
