Ainscough Crane Hire continues to invest in its industry-leading fleet with the addition of ten new Scania trucks.

The trucks are Model 5580/650A6X4NZ Premium Highline XT spec and have been sourced according to Ainscough’s SEC principals – Safety, Environmental and Comfort. The new vehicles will be utilised to support Ainscough’s core business fleet of mobile, mobile tower, strut and heavy cranes throughout the UK, ensuring that the company will continue to deliver an improved and reliable service for its clients.

The new trucks are fully compliant with FORS & CLOCS requirements and DVS20/20 permitted. They feature numerous improved safety features, including Lane Departure Warning, an Electronic Braking System and an Electronic Stability Program.

Additionally, Ainscough has fitted the vehicles with a five-channel live streaming CCTV system and sensors detectors for vulnerable road users.

The 5580 also comes with a range of environmental benefits, with its 16-litre V8 engine’s increased torque level enabling reduced fuel consumption, while the battery maintainer system allows the use of enhanced cab electrical features without the need to rely on running the engine, resulting in reduced emissions and fuel use.

The Ainscough staff operating the trucks will benefit from a range of comforts and amenities in the vehicles, including a cab seat designed to the highest ergonomic standards, as well as a microwave, fridge/freezer, an infotainment system and many other features.

The investment demonstrates Ainscough’s commitment to refreshing and upgrading its service offering and significantly increases its haulage capabilities, meaning the company is well suited to build upon its standing as a trusted supplier on industrial and infrastructure projects.

Marcus Gough, Ainscough’s head of transport, said: “The arrival of these ten Scania trucks reflects our commitment to continually investing in our fleet for the benefit of our customers and staff. With the arrival of such a large number of specialist heavy haulage trucks at this time, we are ensuring that we’re able to continue delivering excellent services for clients across the country. Combined with the recent addition of two Liebherr MK88-4.1s, our fleet continues to go from strength to strength.”
