In the four months, I’ve been with the team, I’ve managed to settle in very quickly, reconnecting with previous colleagues and managers from across the company. After being approached earlier this year by my old line manager at Ainscough, I applied for the job knowing I would be joining a diverse and hard-working team.

Handling all things Thames Water related, I’m responsible for direct enquiries as well as those from the subcontractors, allocating contract lift managers for surveys and method statements, arranging site visits and crane hires, as well as creating quotes.

Thames Water, the UK’s largest water and wastewater Services Company, takes care of water for 15 million people and is responsible for the public water supply and wastewater treatment in most of Greater London, Luton, the Thames Valley, Surrey, Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire, far west Kent, and more.

In my previous role at Ainscough, from 2015-17, I was a contract lift coordinator for the London Hire Centre. I joined the team following maternity leave, with 15 years in the plant and tool hire field under my belt. The job appealed to me as it was all the things I was already doing, just with bigger ‘toys’!

When this job became available, I knew I’d be in good hands having worked with the team before. Something I pride myself on is not letting a single customer down and always making sure I’ve gone above and beyond to deliver what they need, so it’s incredible to be part of a team where everyone has the same mentality and goal – and I’m yet to let anybody down!

One of my highlights so far has been building really great working relationships with Thames Water and their subcontractors. I’ve also been able to work with the same line manager and many of the same team mates, as well as new colleagues who’ve joined in the interim, giving me the opportunity to strengthen old working relationships and build brand new ones!
