Ainscough Crane Hire has revealed details of its new Aberdeen depot, part of plans to grow capacity and capabilities in Scotland.

The new site is located in the Aberdeen district of Altens, near the Altens Lorry Park, and has seen Ainscough move from its previous site at Torry. The new depot has increased ease-of-access and has enhanced onsite security.

With just over an acre of space, the new depot is being used to house 18 cranes, ranging from a 40t to 250t and the largest vehicle, 350t. The site also incorporates a large workshop and garage, where cranes can be maintained, serviced and inspected.

As we launch our new Depot in Aberdeen, we are delighted to welcome on board two new additions to strengthen our Aberdeen Team.

Derrick Reith, our new Depot Manager joins us with a wealth of experience around the area, including on-shore and offshore oil and gas support services. Derrick is joined by our new Contract Lift Manager Kenny Hair, who has extensive experience of planning and implementing complex lifting solutions and coordinating day to day cranage requirements on major projects and shutdowns.

The new depot will additionally provide an updated base within Ainscough’s Scottish operation to improve its service work in supporting the critical national infrastructure and harbour at Aberdeen.

Gavin Egdell, Area Manager of Ainscough’s Scottish region, said: “Everyone at Ainscough Crane Hire is proud to be able to open the new and updated depot in Aberdeen. We are excited to play a key role in the new schemes coming to life here and also look forward to supporting other clients across Scotland as more projects get to site.”
