AINSCOUGH’S BIRMINGHAM DEPOT BRINGS SAFETY BOOST TO CITY CENTRE STUDENT ACCOMODATION

Ainscough Crane Hire’s Birmingham Depot recently worked with leading ventilation company Flo-Vent Limited to improve safety at Broderick House in Birmingham, one of the city’s most popular student accommodation buildings.

Flo-Vent provides an all-encompassing, cost-effective smoke ventilation system. Its specialists have over 20 years’ experience within the fire and electrical industries, supplying, installing, and maintaining smoke extraction systems.

As part of its work at Broderick House, Flo-Vent took delivery of a superb Sertus Ltd smoke ventilation system, complete with two pre-commissioned roof mechanical pods. Ainscough Crane Hire was appointed on a contract lift basis, with the pods lifted into position and operational within the day.

The work was part of a refurbishment programme that saw the building revamped ahead of reopening to students for the new academic year.
Ainscough’s team for the operation included slinger Connor Foster, crane operator Damian Moore and appointed person Nick Leach. A 60t all-terrain crane was completed to undertake the work.

Peter Anthony, Regional Operations Manager said: “Working in a busy city centre location always brings its challenges, but thanks to our advance planning and working closely with our customer we were able to complete this lift in a swift and safe manner, ensuring the building’s refurbishment programme stayed on track.”

Broderick House is a popular choice of student accommodation in Birmingham, located within a short journey of all the city’s universities. Aston University, Birmingham City University, and the University of Birmingham are all less than 25 minutes away by bus.
