An end of year message from our CEO

Ainscough Crane Hire CEO, Peter Gibs, offers his thoughts on the year just gone and looks ahead to 2023.

Dear customer,

Another year almost done and dusted, I’m sure like me, you’ll find it hard to think of one that’s thrown up as many hurdles to contend with. As a valued Ainscough Crane Hire customer, I hope you’ve managed to navigate these challenges successfully, and had the quality of service and support from Ainscough you expect.

Despite the headwinds that have come our way this year, we’ve notched up some significant achievements and our customers have been integral to that journey. We’ve also continued to invest significantly in our fleet of cranes and HGVs to ensure we deliver you, what we believe to be, the best-in-sector service.

It seems like a while ago now, but in April we took industry-leading steps around Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). By running our fleet solely on HVO, we’re changing the game for our industry and your support has been invaluable. This change came on the back of years of preparation and trial which have already delivered substantial steps to reduce both energy consumption and emissions. Together we are now well-placed to drive forward further change that will reduce our impact on the environment and drive innovation within the sectors we operate.

I’m confident that anyone who has worked with Ainscough Crane Hire will be aware of the quality of our people, I am clear they are our most critical asset. From Contract Lift Managers to Crane Operators, we’re continuing to recruit, train and retain the highest quality team so that we can continue to meet your lifting requirements with experienced, competent, and engaged operators and management. To achieve this we’ve delivered a range of sector-leading retention, engagement, and training initiatives.

As we approach the end of 2022, there remain plenty of challenges to overcome for all businesses in 2023. Whilst we continue to move on from the COVID-19 hangover, the impacts of spiralling energy prices and the impact of the war in Ukraine are contributing to the looming spectre of a recession in the UK, the effects of which are yet to become clear for our industry.

We will continue to engage with our customers on all the issues that are impacting them, and we will continue to drive innovative solutions to support safe and cost-effective lift solutions. I would encourage you to continue to speak to your contacts within our company or call us on 0800 272 637, to open that dialogue so that we can focus on solutions specific to your lifting needs. You can always visit our website to stay up to date on the services we offer.

That just leaves me to thank you on behalf of Ainscough Crane Hire for your continued support. We have an exciting programme ahead of us for 2023 and are well-placed to meet any new challenges that appear, in the meantime, I want to wish you and your teams all the very best for the festive period and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Best wishes,

Peter Gibbs
