FAQs

What is a contract lift?

Contract Lifts are the perfect option for those companies who do not have their own Appointed Person and are looking for a fully managed, lifting solution.

Just like Crane Hire, this option means we would provide specialist, best-in-class equipment and a team to complete our task. However, customers who opt for a Contract Lift provided under CPA (Construction Plant Hire Association) contract lift terms and conditions receive a much wider service.

This includes:

  • Site visits/scope of work
  • Selection of required crane
  • Lifting plans
  • Risk assessments (including COVID-19 compliance)
  • Method statements
  • Appointed person
  • Slinger/signallers
  • Transport
  • Traffic management
  • Quality, health & safety & environmental analysis
  • Road closures and much more.

Insurance Cover

  • Damage to crane
  • Loss of hire during the repair
  • Lifted Goods
  • Public Liability

All of the above are delivered by the most experienced team in the industry from our nationwide network. This means we can plan and deliver the lift, allowing you more time to focus on other aspects of your project.

What different sizes of cranes do you have?

Our national fleet of cranes means we can either hire out single cranes for one-off lifts or manage multiple units on-site for the most complex of contract lift requirements.

We specify a range of cranes, including mobile, crawler and mobile tower cranes from 40t up to 800t, all accompanied by a fully qualified crane operator who will work to your pre-designed Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS).

What is the weight of the item being lifted? Why is this important?

By understanding the weight of what you need lifting we can provide the correct crane for the job.

How to measure the radius.

To measure the radius you need to measure the distance from the crane to the item being lifted.

Why do you need the dates?

Adding the dates you need the lift to take place helps us plan the availability of our cranes for your job. Please consider that some cranes may also need routing plans for travel to your job, which may impact the available dates.

Why do we need your address?

We use this to determine the closest depot to dispatch our crane from and minimise travel.
