This practical based course enables workers to assess and perform manual handling tasks safely within a wind turbine environment.

This syllabus delivers the Manual Handling module of the Global Wind Organisation ‘Basic Safety Training’ standard.

A full refresher course must be undertaken within 2 years. The use of customer sites will be subject to an assessment and the audit requirements of GWO. Delegates must be medically fit to perform the practical elements of this course and must sign a medical disclaimer to that effect.

- Knowledge of the global and UK legislation relating to manual handling
- Understanding of the principles of safe manual handling
- Fundamentals of anatomy and posture

- Problem-solving approaches to manual handling in a wind turbine scenario
